Jeehyum Kim

ECSC Accompanist

Jeehyun Kim has been accompanying the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus since 2014. Growing up in South Korea, she studied piano and became a church pianist at the age of 11. 

During her time in Korea, she won many national music competitions including the Concerto competition of Seoul National Symphony Orchestra.

After coming to the US, she continued her studies and received a Master of Music from the Hartt School of Music. After completing her studies, she was invited to perform frequently as a soloist and collaborative pianist for numerous stages. She has performed with Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, Connecticut Symphonic Winds and Hamden Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Kim is a versatile musician who appears in many other music scenes, such as theater arts. She has participated as a music director and keyboardist in a number of musicals. Some of her favorites are Wizard of Oz, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Nine, The Wild Party, The Little Shop of Horrors, Next to Normal, Babes in Arms and many more. 

Besides performing schedules, she is the music director of Greenwich Korean Church and piano accompanist for Quinnipiac University Singers, Oxford Middle School Choir and Western Connecticut State University Singers. She also accompanies the woodwinds’ and strings’ studio at WCSU. She lives in Shelton, Connecticut with her husband, son and a turtle.
