Young People’s Concerts
APPROPRIATE FOR TEACHERS & STUDENTS: 3RD – 5TH GRADE
In partnership with the Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute
For the past several years, the ECSO has presented Young People’s Concerts (YPCs) at the Garde Arts Center. These concerts are sponsored in large part by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Connecticut. The audience consists of third, fourth, and fifth-graders from many communities in New London County who receive specialized curriculum in advance of the concert to prepare them to enjoy the experience. For our 2022-23 YPCs, we hosted more than 1000 students and teachers partnering with Carnegie Hall to present “Link Up”, an interactive format that teaches music education through recorder training, movement, and singing, which culminates in a performance that places the participants in a central role with the orchestra. If your school would like to be included in this program, please contact us at [email protected]
