Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus and ECSO Musicians Present Handel’s Messiah

NEW LONDON, CT – The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Daniel McDavitt, joins ECSO musicians, led by Music Director Toshiyuki Shimada, to present a festive evening of Handel’s beloved Messiah on Friday, December 19th at 7:30 PM in Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College.

This special holiday collaboration brings together our passionate vocalists and accomplished instrumentalists to celebrate the season with one of classical music’s most cherished masterworks.

George Frideric Handel composed Messiah in 1741 in just 24 days. From the joyous “For Unto Us a Child is Born” to the triumphant “Hallelujah” Chorus, this timeless masterpiece captures the wonder and reverence of the holiday season through magnificent orchestral accompaniment and powerful choral singing.

Whether you’re a longtime classical music enthusiast or experiencing Messiah for the first time, this live performance offers an unforgettable evening of music that has moved audiences for more than 260 years.

Tickets are just $35 and available at www.ectsymphony.com.

The ECSC sings some of the most monumental and inspiring music ever written, from requiems, masses, symphonies, and beyond. But the most impactful part is how the music unites them as an ensemble, and then unites them with Toshi and the symphony musicians, and then finally, with the audience.
