Sounds of America

Like the February 21 concert, the ECSO’s season closer will look ahead to the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026. The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra concludes its season with a stirring celebration of American music. The evening begins with choral masterworks by Randall Thompson, Jake Runestad, and Dr. Daniel McDavitt performed by the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus under the direction of Daniel McDavitt. Soprano Grace Murphy and tenor Henry Cox take center stage for Leonard Bernstein’s beloved West Side Story Selections, bringing the romance and drama of this American classic to life with unforgettable melodies like “Maria,” “Somewhere,” and “One Hand, One Heart.” The concert culminates with Aaron Copland’s majestic Symphony No. 3, a sweeping orchestral work that captures the expansive spirit and optimism of America. Join us for this powerful season finale that showcases the very best of American classical music.

You can subscribe today to lock in discounts, complimentary vouchers, and the same seats for each concert. The order form is available here, or you can call the ECSO office at 860-443-2876 to discuss seating options.
