Year you joined the ECSO: 2016
Violist Hannah Ross is a freelance musician, teacher, and collaborator in New England. After earning a BM and MM in Viola Performance from The Juilliard School, Hannah moved to Providence, Rhode Island where she has lived and worked for the past six years.
For three years, Hannah taught underserved youth in Providence through Community MusicWorks, a nationally recognized organization and ensemble of resident musicians who integrate social justice work and self reflection into teaching and performance practices. In 2016, Hannah joined the faculty of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School where she teaches private violin and viola lessons. Hannah performs with the ECSO as Assistant Principal violist and as a substitute musician with the Kansas City Symphony, Albany Symphony, RI Philharmonic, the Cape Symphony, and the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra. During the summers, Hannah teaches chamber music at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music in Nelson, New Hampshire.
Hidden talent(s):Making baguettes from scratch and knitting (though not simultaenously).
