Caleb Bailey

Executive Director

Caleb Bailey received a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Communication Studies) in 2010. In August of 2010 he began working with Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra as Orchestra Manager. In this capacity, he acted as personnel manager, operations manager, and music librarian.

Mr. Bailey completed the League of American Orchestras’ Essentials of Orchestra Management program in February 2013. Additionally, he served as an Orchestra Manager with the Aspen Music Festival and School (Aspen Festival Orchestra) during the summer of 2013. In January of 2014, Bailey was one of seven participants selected for the League of American Orchestras’ inaugural class of the Emerging Leaders Program, a two-year program that offered in-depth personal leadership training. He also participated in the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut’s Leadership Program, graduating in 2019.

In July of 2015, Bailey began work as Executive Director with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra in New London, Connecticut. His first season with ECSO featured many new initiatives, including chamber music outreach in the community and new partnerships with area non-profits. His efforts, along with the ECSO staff, Board, and musicians have yielded audience growth, increased contributed income, and more robust education offerings in our region. In other community capacities, he serves as a Board member on the Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition and is a past Board member of the Rotary Club of New London and Fiddleheads Food Co-op. He enjoys playing guitar, writing music, running, cooking, and taking sailing lessons with his wife, Sara.
