ECSO in rehearsal - Beethoven Symphony No. 9 - Season Finale
3 Jul 2018
The 70th anniversary season finale opens with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture from one of his most well-loved operas. Following is Béla Bartók’s Dance Suite, programmed in conjunction with International Dance Day. The season ends with Ludwig van Beethoven’s universally adored Symphony No. 9. With its widely known “Ode to Joy” theme, and pioneering usage of a chorus alongside the symphony, this work will utilize all of the ECSO’s forces. The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus unites with superb soloists to drive home the powerful fourth movement, with its universal call towards unity and peace. This concert is generously sponsored by Olde Mistick Village, with additional funding by Waller Smith & Palmer PC. Tickets available by calling 860-443-2876 or visit
